Wine Find: Pra Otto Soave Classico 2016

Soave stands as one of my favourite Italian white wines, as it is refreshing, crisp, and full of stone fruit, floral notes like acacia, and a cleansing minerality.

Among this wine's brightest stars is the Prà Otto Soave Classico, a beautifully balanced white that captures the true sense of Garganega grapes grown in Monteforte d'Alpone. I recently had the Prà Otto Soave Classico 2016, but vintage aside, this producer is known for its consistency in bringing to life stellar Soave wines, year after year.

About the Pra Otto Soave Classico 2016

The 2016 Otto Soave Classico is made entirely from Garganega grapes, harvested from volcanic soil vineyards and aged exclusively in stainless steel tanks to retain its crisp character.

On the nose, it offers subtle aromas of honeysuckle, elderflower, and starfruit intertwined with notes of fresh almond and stone fruits like apricot and peach.

The palate reveals a lively mix of ripe fruit and stony minerality along with vibrant acidity that lifts the wine’s medium body. Its texture is smooth yet slightly creamy, giving it weight without heaviness.

The finish is clean and refreshing with hints of citrus zest and a persistent mineral thread.

The Prà Otto Soave Classico 2016 is a versatile white wine perfect for warm weather sipping as an aperitif or paired with a wide array of dishes.
